Reviews about Walmart Pharmacy

May 08, 2020, by Daniel Jackson
My wife sent me in to pick up her antibiotic prescription. She stayed in the car because she has hole on the foot called diabetic ulcer. And cannot walk on it. It's too painful. Her podiatrist called in the Rx for Cipro, a medication strong enough to cure anthrax. I gave the pharmacy tech all my wife information driver's license & insurance card. She couldn't find my wife in the system, even after I told her my wife uses the other Walmart pharmacy in Sherwood. When she gave me the medication she called the pharmacist to give me the medication advice. The pharmacist adviced that she shouldn't have any dairy products while she is on this medication. And when we spoke to the clinic they said she shouldn't take dairy products 2 hours before or after taking the medication. But that could take dairy products as usual during the day. When we got home, my wife realized that either her name was horribly mispelled or this was another patient with the same name. At 11:30 pain, unable to contact anyone, unable to know if she should take the antibiotic or wait to speak to the Walmart pharmacist or head to the local ER if indeed her foot ulcer infection is so severe. Or was this the prescription of another patient? We will never know until the morning. Thanks to either a typo error, or the incompetent mistake of choosing the prescription of another patient just because the name proximity. I'm angry, my wife's foot is at stake here, just for their pure incompetence! To Pharmacy Management: All of the Walmart pharmacy systems in Oregon, Washington and California should communicate to prevent double filling, typos or mistakes such as this. My wife gets regular refills at the Walmart pharmacy in Sherwood. As she sees her doctor at Providence in Sherwood. My wife's name shouldn't have been reentered in the computer as a New Walmart pharmacy member, because she already is one. The confusion may have been due to the lack of competence from your system or your staff. Furthermore, we the consumers trust your knowledge, experience and intelligence to give us the correct medication product we are picking up from you. It was called in by the doctor or his staff or faxed to you, it was not phoned in as a refill request from the patient's side. I'm just the receiving end. The messenger who received a prescription with the wrong patient name. I gave you her driver's license, and her insurance card. Both identifications to get her name correctly. You choose the same first name but with different last name that Started with the same letter. This has no merit whatsoever. This action was badly done. This will not get you a 5 star rating, and you will have to jump many hoops before you can be viewed as a COMPETENT TRUSTWORTHY place of business again.
